Back in Camocim, Brazil
After a two month stay on Fuerteventura, the 30 August it was time for me to fly back home to Switzerland. There I saw my family and catched up with my friends, organized things for shool (as my classes started the 3.September) and got ready for my next trip.
The 4th of September after a 35 hours travel I made it, for my third time now, to Brazil and my friend Paul Andrade picked me up at Fortaleza Airport. He drove me to Camocim (4.30h driving) where we would stay for the whole September together in his house. Paulo is a very nice guy who is helping all the local windsurfing kids with windsurf equipment. Wouldn’t he help, half of them wouldn't be windsurfing at the moment. So thanks Paulo for the support!
The first day in Camocim was really nice while seeing all friends again, driving together on bicycle to the beach and for sure having a great session in Boardshorts all the afternoon on the river !
Hugo and Jamilson, two great friends and passionated Freestylers
Until now I was waking up every morning early, studied for my classes till 12h, then drove to the beach on a bicycle and ate at Hugo's house. After lunch we took out our windsurfing stuff from the storage at the Pousada right at the river and went on sailing.
The wind has been good for 4.2 every day and got sometimes even too strong. While sailing everyday 3 to 4 hours, I had a very good week of sailing.
On Saturday and Sunday we filmed and scored some great action. Because of a wound on my foot, yesterday I took an afternoon off and cut an action clip out of this footage.
As you can see in the movie the two locals Jamilson and Hugo are ripping really hard. Hugo who is only 15 years old, improved very much and is now landing impressive moves. Even he had almost no sailing since January, he improves so fast that in only one month he makes big steps. Since August he is back on the water and sails every day.
Hugo de Souza, a future windsurfing star
The question now is: Who will be the first to make him sign a contract and bring him to competitions?
For me it’s just a question of the time till Hugo challenges with the world best freestylers.
17 days more to go before I will be heading back to shool to pass few exams. In the middle of October I plan to drive to the South of France and have there a last preparation before the upcoming EFPT event will take place in Six-Fours.
Hang loose !!!!
