Sunday the 3.10 2010, the second swiss freestyle battle took place. We drove there on saturday night, my father, Jibi and me. Unfortunatelly Jibi's new equipement is in Leucate, so he had to take my old sail and his old board, but he still ripped the spot ;)
The conditions where hard cause of big chop, lots of people and strong, gusty wind! We started two suppersession in which the best trick count. At last Jibi got 3rd with a nice shaka and toad, and I got 4th, also with a nice shaka.

full result:

  1. Roman Lorenz
  2. Tino Fuchs
  3. Jeremy Plüss
  4. Loïck Spicher
  5. Pesche Vogt
  6. Michi Grätzer
  7. Hannes Lorenz
  8. Alex Glauser

all in all it was a sick contest and I'm really looking forward to more freestyle battles in the next season!!

Hey!

It has been a while that I didn't give any new about me but now I think it's time to tell you about my last holiday and what is going next.

Every summer we spent our holidays on the Islands Paros and Rhodos in Greece. But this year my family and Iwanted to change. So we planned something that we first thought unbelievable, but in the end we did it.. We drove from Switzerland with our old camping car to Portimao (south of Portugal), took the boat and arrived two days later in Cran Canaria! We drove to Pozo, the famous wave spot where every year the Wordlchampions chips takes place and surfed there for 4 days. Then we took again the boat and sailed to Fuerteventura. It’s a really nice island we visited almost every beach and saw a lot of nice ones. But most of the time we stayed in Sotavento, the most windi place in the south of the Island. We surfed a lot, almost all days. You can surf in the lagoon, at center René Egli 1, René 2 or just in the middle of both. I preffered to sail in between of both centers. There are less people, the wind is always stronger and constant, on the left side good chop for shakas toads etc. and on the right perfect flat water!

We also visited the north of the Island and the best spot for me was Punta Blanca! It’s side on with wind from the right which is my good way. When we surfed there, there was some nice swell. Waves up to 3 meters that were really easy to jump and not dangerous. It’s also very good for surfing the waves. After Punta Blanca we went to El Cotillo. We practised some bodyboard and surf in the quite high breaking waves.

So we drove around the Island looking for the spots and just have fun during the holidays. Although the trip was very expensive with the long road and boat journey, I really recommend it to people that like wild camping (because there is not any camping on the Island) and who want to change and do something new. And of course to people that look for a wind sure place!

We spent there till the 24 of August. Now I’m in Switzerland, working to do some money and I’m still planning a trip for the whole winter, because this year is a special year for me. I’m doing a year break with the school, to surf as much as possible and beside that to learn spanish. I’m planning to go to south Spain after January till the summer. From November to January I’ll go to Jericoacoara (Brazil) to train full power!!! =))

Yeah so I’ll keep you updated and post soon a movie from Fuerteventura ;)

All the best

Hey Everbody!

Jibi and I came back from Leucate. We had in the first week a few days of wind. So we could prepare for the Mondial du Vent.

Bise Noire Riders goes to EFPT! The last Friday the Efpt begun officially. Because of the weak wind forcast, we laid all our hopes for Sunday. Luckily the wind got stronger and we could begin the first hits on Sunday. I had to line up in the first hit against the france guy Jeremy Amsellen. Unfortunately for him he missed the start and came about 20 seconds too late on the water. I could win the hit with a Move more than him.  Jibi had a little less luck and lost his hit against Bosson, who sailed just a perfect hit. I got in the second round and had to go against the NB guy Davy Sheffers. Unfortunately, right now he ist too good for me.

In the double elimination Jibi won his Heat against the Swiss Olivier Stauffacher and got in the next round. I was against Antony Runes. I missed my hit with too many Crashes and did not farther. So I landed on the 17 place. Jibi still had to line up against Thijs Westbroek from Holand. Unfortunately, he missed the start of the hit and could not show everything what he is able to do. However, he won the U17 category and became 13 in the overall.

The event was otherwise very cool, we met many new Riders and had a lot of fun. Now we are exalted more than before and are looking forward to the next Competitions. Big thank to the Bise Noire, Jp Australia and Neilpryde for their trust.

Yesterday there wasn't enough wind, so I took out my windskate and my old sail. I puted also new axis! They allow me to do a whole rotation!! it is really simillar to windsurfing. I think it is a good way to preparing your tricks when there is no wind!

enjoy it!

cheers
